Applications
Nonwoven Fabrics
Spunbond and meltblown nonwoven lines depend on consistent melt viscosity to maintain web weight uniformity across rolls and shifts. S2040's MFR of 37 g/10min sits in the range where spunbond lines can operate at high speeds without requiring aggressive temperature settings. The zero coloring particle count means no contamination risk in medical or hygiene nonwoven applications where white visual appearance is a quality checkpoint. Low ash content (0.0136%) keeps spinneret packs cleaner over longer production intervals, reducing maintenance downtime on continuous lines.
High-Speed Spinning and Filament
High-speed spinning imposes high shear rates on the melt, making molecular weight distribution consistency critical for avoiding fiber breaks and uneven draw ratios. The Innovene process, with hydrogen as the molecular weight regulator, produces a controlled MWD that supports the processing predictability filament producers need. The negative yellow index (-3.9) is relevant for undyed or optically brightened filament, where the base resin color contributes directly to the final product's whiteness.
Fine-Denier Staple Fiber
Fine-denier staple fiber requires a resin capable of spinning down to low denier values without melt fracture or fiber break at practical processing temperatures. At 37 g/10min MFR, S2040 provides the flow to support fine-denier spinning without pushing barrel temperatures into the range where degradation begins. Good heat resistance and chemical resistance — consistent with the mechanical property profile — carry through to fiber that retains dimensional stability during downstream heat-setting operations and resists degradation during wet chemical finishing processes.
Why Source Through BASTONE
BASTONE Petrochem distributes petrochemicals from China's top three producers — SINOPEC, PetroChina, and CNOOC — with listed distributor status through SINOPEC. For Dushanzi-origin grades like S2040, BASTONE operates through an established supply relationship within PetroChina's commercial distribution network, providing allocation access that is not dependent on spot-market availability. Every shipment of S2040 carries a full COA traceable to the Dushanzi production batch, with all parameters documented against Q/SY DS122-2016. Buyers can request prior batch COAs during supplier qualification without waiting for a new shipment.
BASTONE's export operations run through Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd, which manages trade documentation, customs declaration, and logistics coordination from Chinese ports. The export team carries over ten years of experience handling polyolefin shipments under FOB, CIF, and CFR terms. For procurement teams new to Dushanzi-origin PP, BASTONE can coordinate third-party inspection through SGS or equivalent agencies before container loading.
The parent group operates four production sites and one R&D center, which gives BASTONE technical staff grounded in polymer chemistry rather than pure trading. When a buyer's application sits between two MFR-adjacent grades, BASTONE can provide application-level input on grade selection — not just a datasheet comparison.
