Applications
T23050 is rated for extruded pipe, and the PE100 classification defines the pressure envelope. Municipal water supply networks built to PE100 specifications operate at internal pressures that unimodal or PE80 grades cannot sustain long-term. SDR 11 pipe in T23050 supports operating pressures up to 12.5 bar at 20°C, with the bimodal MWD providing the slow crack growth resistance demanded by ISO 4427 and EN 12201 pipe standards.
Steel skeleton composite pipes and steel band reinforced corrugated pipes represent a second application class where different mechanical demands apply. The HDPE matrix in composite constructions must co-deform with the steel reinforcement layer across pressure cycling and thermal expansion without delaminating or initiating stress cracks at the interface. T23050's 32.8 kJ/m² impact strength and 704% strain at break reflect a material that absorbs and redistributes energy rather than propagating failure from a notch or surface defect — the failure mode that ends composite pipe service life prematurely.
The combination of controlled MFR, high density, and bimodal architecture also positions T23050 for large-diameter gas distribution pipe where slow crack growth resistance carries safety-critical weight. Pipe producers working to relevant national or international gas pipe standards will find T23050's property profile consistent with those requirements.
Handling, Storage & Safety Guidelines
HDPE T23050 (CAS 9002-88-4) is not classified as a hazardous substance under standard chemical regulations. Pellets are non-toxic and chemically inert under ambient storage and normal handling conditions. Standard industrial gloves and eye protection apply when working near processing equipment; no additional PPE is required for warehouse or logistics handling.
Store pellets in a dry, covered facility away from direct sunlight and open flame. Conveying and blending operations generate fine polymer dust; accumulated HDPE dust can ignite at sufficient airborne concentration, so dust management controls and equipment earthing apply in processing areas per standard polymer handling codes.
Extrusion at the recommended barrel temperatures of 190–230°C produces low-level hydrocarbon emissions. Adequate ventilation at the processing line is standard practice. Keep T23050 away from strong oxidizing agents. No special precautions apply to storage or port handling under normal ambient temperature and humidity conditions.
Why Source Through BASTONE
BASTONE Petrochem holds listed distributor status with PetroChina — one of China's top three petrochemical producers and the manufacturer of T23050. Allocation access through a named distributor relationship means BASTONE can call on Dushanzi production scheduling directly, rather than bidding on spot cargo after primary channels are exhausted. For buyers operating on a fixed project timeline or running continuous production lines, supply continuity through a scheduled allocation is a materially different proposition from spot purchasing.
The BASTONE Group operates 4 production sites and an in-house R&D center, which means the technical team behind your supply order has working knowledge of polymer chemistry. Grade selection questions — whether T23050 is the right PE100 resin for a specific pipe diameter, wall thickness, or service condition — can be answered with reference to actual processing experience, not just a datasheet comparison.
Export operations run through Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd, an established export entity with over 10 years of cross-border documentation experience. BASTONE coordinates CIQ inspection, manages documentation in Chinese and English, and can accommodate FOB, CIF, and CFR trade terms depending on the buyer's freight arrangement.
