MZT101 Polypropylene Antireflective Masterbatch — Transparency & Gloss Enhancer for PP

MZT101 is a nucleating agent masterbatch built on a polypropylene carrier, formulated and produced in-house by BASTONE rather than sourced and repacked. The active system works by seeding crystallization in the PP melt, generating a finer and more uniform spherulite structure than the polymer forms on its own. Smaller crystallites scatter less visible light, so the finished part reads clearer and reflects a sharper specular gloss off the tool surface.

The crystallization effect delivers more than optics. MZT101 raises rigidity and heat distortion temperature in the compounded part, letting a formulator either hold existing mechanical performance at a thinner wall or extend the service envelope of an existing grade without switching base resin. For converters running commodity homopolymer or random copolymer PP, the additive is often the cheaper path to a clarity target than moving to a specialty clarified resin.

Faster crystallization also compresses the molding cycle. Because MZT101 accelerates curing of the part, cooling time and holding time can both be reduced, which raises output per tool per shift. On a high-cavitation packaging tool running around the clock, a few seconds off the cycle changes the unit economics of the job more than the additive costs.

BASTONE's group structure sits behind the product. The parent company operates 4 production sites and 1 R&D center, and MZT101 comes out of that R&D pipeline as a proprietary BASTONE formulation, not a traded commodity. Batch consistency, dispersion quality, and carrier compatibility are controlled by our own chemists at the point of manufacture, and the product holds FDA and GB certification for hygiene and safety.
