Technical Properties
BASTONE publishes measured values against the parameters below. Numerical data is issued on the current production-lot COA and technical datasheet rather than reproduced here, so buyers evaluate against real batch results.
| Parameter | Unit | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Sheet flexural modulus | MPa | On request — see current TDS |
| Product haze | % | On request — see current TDS |
| Typical haze value | % | On request — see current TDS |
| Gloss of water glass | % | On request — see current TDS |
| Top pressure strength | Comparative | On request — see current TDS |
| Polymer crystallization speed | — | Fast |
Recommended Processing Conditions
Processing parameters — addition rate, extrusion temperature profile, and screw configuration — depend on the base PP grade, part geometry, and target property set. BASTONE issues line-specific recommendations after reviewing the base resin MFR and the application. Contact the technical team with a resin spec and a target property and the recommendation comes back with the sample.
Applications
Disposable polypropylene cups. MZG101 was designed for the application specifically. Disposable PP cups fail commercially in two directions: too flexible and the cup crushes in the hand or in a stacked case; too hazy and it loses shelf appeal against PET. MZG101 addresses both, raising rigidity, stiffness, and heat distortion temperature while cutting haze and lifting gloss. Higher heat distortion temperature matters for hot-fill and for cups that see hot beverages or sterilization exposure without deforming.
Vacuum-formed and thermoformed PP containers. Thermoformed parts are thin by design, so wall stiffness comes from the material rather than the section. Vacuum-formed products made with MZG101 deliver compressive strength and impact resistance — the two loads a stacked container actually sees, from static stacking pressure in a warehouse and from drop impact in handling. Top pressure strength is the property BASTONE benchmarks against unmodified PP.
Clear PP packaging where appearance drives the buying decision. Compared to other transparent masterbatches, MZG101 gives the finished material a more refined look. Sheet extruders and packaging converters moving from general-purpose clarifiers to MZG101 typically evaluate on gloss and haze side by side under the same processing conditions, which is the comparison BASTONE recommends running with a sample lot.
Where an application requires gamma or e-beam sterilization of the finished part, MZG101 handles the stiffness and clarity side of the formulation. Radiation stabilization is a separate additive function, and BASTONE's technical team advises on compatible stabilizer packages and addition rates alongside the MZG101 let-down.
Why Choose BASTONE
BASTONE manufactures MZG101 — it is not a traded product with a relabeled drum. Production runs at the group's Hangzhou Economic Development Zone facility under BASTONE's own quality control, with in-process testing on the same property set the datasheet reports. Buyers get batch traceability back to a production line BASTONE operates, not to a supplier BASTONE buys from.
The group is R&D-oriented by structure, with one dedicated R&D center supporting four production sites. Formulation and testing happen in-house, so a customer request for modified stiffness-to-clarity balance, a different carrier resin, or an adjusted addition rate goes to the chemists who developed MZG101 rather than through a trading house to an anonymous compounder. Sample turnaround and formulation iteration move at manufacturer speed.
Direct manufacturer supply also removes the distributor margin layer. BASTONE quotes export pricing from the plant through Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd., the group's export platform, which handles trade terms, packaging configuration, container loading, and shipping documentation. Over 10 years of export operation means the documentation package — COA, MSDS, certificate of origin, packing list — arrives correct the first time, which matters more to a customs broker than any product claim.
