ASM-PE6001 Antiblock Masterbatch for PE and PP Film

ASM-PE6001 is a polyethylene/polypropylene antiblock masterbatch manufactured by BASTONE at its Hangzhou production facility, formulated with size-selected antiblock agents that reduce film-to-film adhesion in blown, cast, and biaxially oriented polyolefin film.
Added at 1–3%, it lowers blocking force and coefficient of friction without disrupting downstream lamination or printing.
The grade carries FDA and GB compliance for food-contact film applications.

Description

ASM-PE6001 is a carrier-based additive concentrate built on a polyolefin matrix and loaded with inorganic antiblock agents selected by both particle type and particle size distribution. BASTONE's formulation team screens the antiblock filler for the specific gap that matters in film converting — the mineral has to sit proud of the film surface enough to create micro-roughness and break the vacuum between adjacent layers, but not so coarse that it scatters light or scores the film during winding. Compounding runs on a controlled dispersion process at BASTONE's Hangzhou site, developed specifically to drive the filler into a uniform, agglomerate-free distribution in the carrier.

Dispersion quality is the specification that separates one antiblock masterbatch from another, and ASM-PE6001 targets a low gel count in the finished film. Poorly dispersed antiblock shows up as visible fisheyes and gel specks on a light table, which reject clear packaging film outright. Converters running thin-gauge BOPE or multilayer packaging film see the defect immediately, so BASTONE controls dispersion at the compounding stage rather than asking the film line to correct it.

The grade also resists migration. Antiblock agents that bloom to the surface interfere with adhesive anchoring in lamination and with ink wetting in flexographic and rotogravure printing — a common failure mode when a converter switches masterbatch suppliers mid-program. ASM-PE6001 holds the additive in place, which keeps bond strength and print adhesion stable across the roll and across production lots.

Beyond blocking control, the product lowers the coefficient of friction of the film surface and improves scratch resistance. Lower COF means faster line speeds on form-fill-seal equipment and cleaner unwinding at the converter. Scratch resistance matters where film runs over idler rollers and through slitting stations, particularly in high-clarity applications where surface marring is a cosmetic reject.

BASTONE manufactures ASM-PE6001 in-house rather than sourcing and relabeling it. The group operates 4 production sites and 1 R&D center, and the same laboratory that develops the formulation runs the incoming raw material checks and the outgoing batch testing. Film customers who need a dispersion or gel-count adjustment for a specific line talk to the people who compound the product, not to a trading desk relaying a request upstream.

Applications

Operator monitoring a blown film extrusion line running clear PE film

Blown film line running clear PE film dosed with antiblock masterbatch at 1–3%

Blown PE and PP film is the primary target. Blocking develops as the bubble collapses and the still-warm layers press together in the nip, and the problem worsens with high-clarity, low-density grades that have smooth surfaces and few natural asperities. Adding ASM-PE6001 at 1–3% builds the surface micro-roughness that keeps the layflat opening cleanly on the bag machine.

Multilayer coextruded packaging film puts the additive under harder constraints. The antiblock has to work on the skin layer without migrating into the sealant or the tie layer, and without compromising the lamination bond that holds the structure together. Non-blooming behavior is the property that matters here — it lets converters run laminated and printed structures on the same film without reformulating between jobs.

Cast PE and PP film is quenched fast on a chill roll, which produces a smooth, high-clarity surface that blocks aggressively. Low gel count carries extra weight in cast film because the thin gauges and high optical requirements make dispersion defects visible. ASM-PE6001 addresses blocking without the haze penalty that comes from oversized or agglomerated filler.

Biaxially oriented polyethylene film stretches the polymer in both directions and thins it substantially, which magnifies any dispersion flaw into a visible defect or a web break. Controlled particle size and consistent dispersion make ASM-PE6001 workable in BOPE lines where the stretching step leaves no margin for agglomerates.

Why Choose BASTONE

Quality control laboratory technician verifying batch COA and inspecting film for gels

Batch COA verification and film gel inspection before warehouse dispatch of every lot

BASTONE manufactures ASM-PE6001 at its own Hangzhou production facility, with the compounding line, the dispersion process, and the quality control laboratory under one roof. Buyers get direct manufacturer pricing without a trading-house margin, and lot traceability that runs back to the raw material batch rather than stopping at a supplier's invoice.

The parent group is R&D-oriented, operating 4 production sites and 1 R&D center staffed with formulation chemists and process technicians. When a film producer needs the antiblock loading adjusted for a specific gauge, or needs the particle size shifted to hit a haze target, BASTONE's formulation team can develop and trial the modification in-house. Pure distributors cannot offer the same path.

Export runs through Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd, backed by more than 10 years of export documentation and logistics experience. BASTONE works to different trade terms, adapts packaging to the buyer's warehouse handling, and coordinates container loading and shipping documentation so procurement teams are not managing the freight leg themselves.
