Fiber-Grade Spinning Masterbatch for Polyester, Nylon and PP Fibers

Fiber-grade spinning masterbatch manufactured by Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd. is a cylindrical pelletized color concentrate engineered for melt spinning of polyester, nylon, and polypropylene filament.
Produced at BASTONE’s Hangzhou facility, the masterbatch delivers FPV ≤ 0.1 dispersion and 250–300°C temperature resistance for continuous spinning lines, industrial filter cloth, and non-woven fabric production.

Description

Fiber-grade spinning masterbatch is a highly loaded pigment concentrate compounded into cylindrical granules for direct metering into melt spinning lines. BASTONE formulates the product around one governing constraint that separates fiber masterbatch from injection or film grades: the melt must pass through spinneret holes measured in tens of microns, thousands of times per minute, without a single agglomerate large enough to interrupt a filament. Every parameter in the specification exists to serve that constraint.

Dispersion is measured at FPV ≤ 0.1, the filter pressure value that spinners use as the practical proxy for spinneret life. A low FPV means pigment particles are broken down and wetted into the carrier resin rather than sitting as clusters, so pack pressure rises slowly and filter screens run longer between changes. Spinneret clogging and the resulting filament breaks are the dominant cost driver in colored fiber production, and dispersion quality is what controls them.

Temperature resistance spans 250–300°C, covering the full melt processing window for PET, PA6, PA66, and polypropylene spinning. Within that range the pigment system resists decomposition and shade drift, so a lot spun on Monday matches the same lot spun on Friday. Lightfastness rates 7–8 on the blue wool scale, which supports outdoor and long-service textile end uses where fading would otherwise limit application. Moisture content stays at ≤ 0.1%, preventing hydrolytic degradation of polyester melt and the void defects that trapped water causes in filament.

BASTONE manufactures the product in-house rather than reselling a third-party compound. The Hangzhou production facility runs the full sequence — pigment pre-treatment, carrier compounding, twin-screw dispersion, pelletizing, and drying — under one quality system, and the group's R&D center handles formulation development and batch testing. Direct control over compounding lets BASTONE hold color and dispersion consistent from lot to lot, and lets the technical team adjust a formulation when a customer's carrier resin, denier, or spinning temperature calls for it.

The masterbatch does not degrade the mechanical properties of the finished fiber, and it meets textile industry environmental standards for articles in direct skin contact — a requirement for apparel, bedding, and hygiene non-wovens rather than an optional claim.

Polyester (PET) filament and staple. PET spins in the upper part of the 250–300°C window and is sensitive to residual moisture, which hydrolyzes the polymer chain and drops intrinsic viscosity. The ≤ 0.1% moisture specification and the temperature resistance ceiling together let the masterbatch enter the extruder without dragging IV down or shifting shade at higher spinning temperatures. Fine denier POY and FDY lines benefit most from the FPV ≤ 0.1 dispersion, since smaller spinneret capillaries have less tolerance for agglomerates.

Nylon 6 and nylon 66. Polyamide spinning demands pigment chemistry that stays stable in an amide melt and does not interfere with drawing. Because the masterbatch leaves fiber mechanical properties unaffected, tenacity and elongation targets hold for carpet BCF, apparel yarn, and industrial nylon after coloring.

Polypropylene fiber. PP processes at the lower end of the range and is widely used in non-wovens and technical textiles. Lightfastness of 7–8 matters here more than in most polymers, since PP fiber ends up in outdoor geotextiles, upholstery, and automotive interiors where UV exposure is continuous.

Industrial filter cloth. Filter media run under mechanical and chemical stress, and any pigment that weakens the filament shortens service life. Color consistency also functions as a grade identifier on the plant floor, so shade stability across production lots has practical value beyond appearance.

Non-woven fabrics. Spunbond and meltblown lines run at high throughput with dense spinneret arrays, making them the least forgiving application for dispersion defects. Compliance with textile environmental standards for skin-contact articles covers hygiene non-wovens, medical fabric, and wipes.

Why Choose BASTONE

Laboratory batch testing and certificate of analysis check beside palletised masterbatch
Laboratory batch testing and certificate of analysis check beside palletised masterbatch ready for export

BASTONE manufactures fiber-grade spinning masterbatch at its own Hangzhou production facility, which puts formulation, compounding, and release testing under a single quality system. Buyers deal with the plant that makes the pellets, not a trading house that repackages someone else's compound — so dispersion complaints, shade matching, and lot traceability get answered by the people who ran the extruder.

The group operates 4 production sites and 1 R&D center, with chemists working across organic, inorganic, polymer, and specialty chemistry. In-house R&D means BASTONE can tune a formulation to a customer's specific carrier resin, denier, or spinning line rather than offering a fixed catalog item. Pilot batches and technical support come from the same team that developed the product.

Direct manufacturer supply removes intermediary markup from the landed cost. BASTONE exports through Zhejiang Bastone Technology Co., Ltd, a platform built over 10+ years of export operations, with flexibility on trade terms, packaging configuration, and shipping arrangements. Documentation, container loading, and port coordination are handled in-house alongside the order.
