Kunlun GPPS Grade Comparison
PetroChina Dushanzi manufactures several GPPS grades under the Kunlun brand to accommodate different injection molding requirements. Selecting the correct resin depends entirely on the balance between flowability and mechanical strength needed for the final part.
GPPS 150NT
Featuring the lowest melt flow rate in the series, the 150NT grade provides maximum structural rigidity. Manufacturers choose the material for thick-walled parts and applications demanding higher heat resistance.
GPPS 300NT
Serving as the mid-range option, the 300NT grade offers a balanced melt flow index. Injection molders specify the resin for standard tasks where both moderate strength and easier processing are necessary.
GPPS 500NT
Providing the highest melt flow rate among the three, the 500NT grade excels in rapid mold filling. Production engineers select the material for thin-walled components, complex mold cavities, and high-speed production cycles where flow takes priority over maximum impact strength.
Applications
Thick-Walled Clear Containers
The low melt flow rate of GPPS 150NT makes it highly suitable for injecting thick-walled cosmetic jars, display boxes, and household storage containers. High molecular weight prevents sink marks during the cooling phase, while the excellent yellow index ensures glass-like transparency.
Electronic Components and Casings
Rigid plastic parts inside consumer electronics require dimensional stability under heat. With a Vicat softening point of ≥98°C, the 150NT grade maintains its shape near warm electronic circuits better than high-flow alternatives. The material provides a rigid, protective shell for internal components.
Sanitary Ware and Bathroom Accessories
Manufacturers producing clear soap dispensers, toothbrush holders, and shower caddies rely on the ≥8.5 kJ/m² Charpy impact strength. The resin resists cracking under daily handling while maintaining a pristine, colorless appearance in humid environments.
