PetroChina produces S2025 under its Kunlun brand using the Innovene gas-phase horizontal stirred bed process. The 550,000-ton-per-year plant polymerizes polymerization-grade propylene feedstock using a highly efficient Ziegler-Natta catalyst system. Plant operators introduce hydrogen gas as a molecular weight regulator during the gas-phase polymerization stage. The resulting homopolymer resin undergoes rigorous degassing, mixing, and granulation to form clean, natural-colored pellets free of black particles or impurities.<\/p>\n

BCF extrusion lines demand tight rheological control. S2025 delivers a melt mass-flow rate (MFR) of 22.4 g\/10min, providing the flowability needed for high-speed filament spinning without sacrificing melt strength during quenching and drawing. A high isotactic index of 97.7% ensures excellent polymer crystallinity, which translates directly to a tensile yield strength of 30.5 MPa in the finished filament. Carpet backing yarns spun from S2025 maintain dimensional stability and resilience under the mechanical stresses of tufting, dyeing, and long-term floor traffic.<\/p>\n

Purity is critical in continuous BCF production. Low ash content (0.0115%) and zero color impurities prevent screen pack blinding and spinneret blockages during extended extrusion campaigns. The material maintains a low yellow index (\u22124.8), ensuring bright, neutral base coloration that accepts carpet dyeing uniformly. After processing, the BCF yarn retains good chemical resistance and thermal stability through downstream heat-setting and latex backing operations.<\/p>\n

Carpet manufacturers currently using SIBEX H253FF from Russia or HP552R from Iran can transition to S2025 without modifying existing BCF line parameters. The MFR, isotacticity, and purity profile of S2025 align closely with both grades, allowing a seamless material changeover with no loss in yarn tenacity, coverage, or carpet backing performance.<\/p>\n
