Description

PetroChina's Dushanzi plant produces TUB121N3000 on a 300,000-ton-per-year HDPE line under the Innovene S slurry process at low pressure. Polymerization-grade ethylene serves as the base monomer, hexene-1 acts as the comonomer, and a titanium-based catalyst system drives chain growth. From the reactor, the material moves through degassing, granulation, and packaging before leaving the plant as natural-colored pellets carrying zero black particles and no foreign contamination.

The molecular architecture is bimodal — two distinct peaks in the chain length distribution are integrated into a single resin matrix. The high-molecular-weight fraction delivers the long-term mechanical properties that pressure pipe specifications demand: environmental stress crack resistance, slow crack growth resistance, and sustained compressive strength. The low-molecular-weight fraction enables adequate melt mobility during extrusion without sacrificing the structural performance of the finished pipe wall.
